Yiwen CHAI
Dr. Chai Yiwen graduated in 2016 with a Master’s degree from the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University (a National Clinical Key Specialty project department). During her postgraduate studies, she completed her standardized residency training. After graduation, she joined the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at the General Hospital of Henan Pingmei Shenma Medical Group (a national Grade 3A general hospital and a medical key cultivation discipline in Henan Province). She obtained her specialist qualification in Intensive Care Medicine in 2016 and was appointed as an Attending Physician in 2019 after passing the intermediate professional title examination. In 2020, she joined the General ICU of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (a high-level clinical key specialty in Guangdong Province and a recommended “Strongest Department” in Guangdong). During the 2022 pandemic, she was selected to work in the isolation ward of the Lingnan Hospital of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (a designated COVID-19 hospital), participating in the treatment of hundreds of mild, common, and severe COVID-19 cases. In 2023, she was appointed as an external teacher at Guangzhou Xinhua University, Sun Yat-sen University, undertaking the teaching of critical care medicine theory and clinical internships.
Prior to joining Guangzhou United Family Hospital, Dr. Chai worked for nearly 7 years at the General Hospital of Henan Pingmei Shenma Medical Group and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.
Dr. Chai specializes in the treatment of lung infections, severe infections, trauma, multiple injuries, liver cirrhosis, liver/kidney failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and difficult weaning from ventilators, as well as the management of high-risk and critically ill patients during the surgical perioperative period. She is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of various types of shock and critical illnesses in internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Chai has independently or jointly published medical papers such as “Clinical Study of Argatroban in Severe Sepsis after Surgery,” “Sodium Aescinate Inhibits Intracerebral Hemorrhage-Induced Inflammatory Response by Upregulating SOCS-1,” and “Causal Associations between Gut Microbiota and Sepsis: A Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization Study.”
