Xiaoying DENG
Dr. Deng is a Chief Physician in Neurology. She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Institute of Neuroscience at Guangzhou Medical University in 2007 and subsequently joined the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. In 2022, she was appointed as a Chief Physician in Neurology at Guangzhou Medical University. She also attended the Advanced Seminar on Neurodegenerative Diseases at Peking Union Medical College in 2021.
Dr. Deng has been engaged in clinical, research, and teaching work in neurology for nearly twenty years. She is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common neurological diseases (including cerebrovascular disease, dizziness, migraine, leukoencephalopathy, limb numbness, facial nerve palsy, central nervous system infection, epilepsy, memory impairment, and Parkinson’s disease) as well as complex neurological conditions (such as myasthenia gravis and motor neuron disease). She is familiar with the application of neurophysiological techniques, including electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), transcranial Doppler (TCD), and electronystagmography (ENG), in neurological disorders. She possesses rich clinical experience in the standardized diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disease and migraine, early diagnosis of memory impairment, medication adjustment and pre-DBS assessment for Parkinson’s disease, and manual reduction for complex benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). She was appointed as a Special Post Expert in the Department of Neurology at Chaoan District People’s Hospital for two years, where she was responsible for ward rounds of difficult and critical cases and technical promotion work.
Dr. Deng has also achieved numerous results in clinical research. She has presided over two provincial and municipal research projects in Guangdong and Guangzhou and has primarily participated in three others, focusing on research related to cerebrovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and headaches. She has published more than 20 academic papers. Currently, she holds positions in several domestic academic organizations, serving as a member of the Neurodegenerative Diseases Committee of the China Microcirculation Society, a member of the Cerebrovascular Disease Branch of the Guangdong Medical Association, a director of the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Branch of the Guangdong Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and a member of the Headache Branch of the Guangdong Society of Precision Medicine Application.
