Anhua LI
Dr. Li Anhua studied in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Portsmouth in the UK from 1999 to 2001, where he obtained his Master’s degree. Dr. Li has long been engaged in tumor ultrasound diagnosis and interventional treatment. He specializes in the ultrasound diagnosis and interventional treatment of tumors across various systems, with particular expertise in the ultrasound diagnosis of thyroid and breast diseases, as well as ultrasound-guided needle biopsy and minimally invasive interventional treatment (ablation) for various tumors. In recent years, he has been dedicated to the popularization of breast ultrasound diagnostic standards and training for breast cancer screening. He has promoted qualitative and localized diagnostic standards for superficial lymph nodes (including the axilla) nationwide, as well as the international universal language for breast imaging—the ACR BI-RADS classification. As one of the PIs (Principal Investigators), he led two Chinese multicenter studies: “Value of Shear Wave Elastography in the Diagnosis of Benign and Malignant Breast Tumors” and “Application of Automated Breast Volume Ultrasound in the Differential Diagnosis of Breast Cancer.” The results of both studies were presented as keynote speeches at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting.
Dr. Li worked at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center for many years, where he served as the Director of the Department of Ultrasound and Electrocardiogram, and is currently the Mentor for the Director of the department. Dr. Li is a member of the expert group for the “China Guidelines for Breast Cancer Screening and Early Diagnosis and Treatment” and the “China Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Quality Control” organized by the National Cancer Center, and has participated in breast cancer screening work many times. Meanwhile, Dr. Li holds positions in several academic organizations: President of the Guangdong Ultrasound Medicine Engineering Society; Vice President of the China Ultrasound Medicine Engineering Society; Vice Chairman of the Ultrasound Branch of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering; Vice Chairman of the Ultrasound Professional Committee of the China Medicine Education Association; Vice Chairman of the Tumor Imaging Specialty Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Ultrasound Channel of Medical Reference News; and a member of the Ultrasound Expert Group of the National Health Commission’s Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center, serving as the deputy head of the superficial organ subgroup.
