Liwei WANG
Dr. Wang Liwei graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine at Hebei Medical University in 2002. He obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Oncology from the Chinese PLA Medical School (Beijing 301 Hospital) in 2006. In 2018, he entered the Department of Oncology at Capital Medical University to pursue an in-service Doctorate in Clinical Oncology. He has completed advanced studies at the Oncology Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He also conducted academic exchange visits at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
After graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Wang completed standardized training in internal medicine at the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University. Following his Master’s degree, he worked successively at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University and the Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, holding positions as Attending Physician and Associate Chief Physician. He has been responsible for clinical and teaching work in medical oncology and established the first Integrated Oncology Rehabilitation Clinic in Beijing, exploring and practicing the concept of “Holistic, Full-Cycle, and Multidisciplinary” integrated oncology rehabilitation management.
Dr. Wang is proficient in the screening, diagnosis, and standardized treatment of common solid tumors (such as lung, breast, gastric, colorectal, and liver cancers). He is skilled in chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, endocrine therapy, and the application of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), as well as the management of toxic side effects and tumor evaluation, follow-up, and monitoring. He also manages tumor-related complications and critical illnesses, the comprehensive treatment of malignant pleural and peritoneal effusions, tumor nutrition and metabolism management, and adult cancer pain management.
Based on the “Holistic-Full Process-Multidisciplinary” management philosophy, his integrated oncology rehabilitation management provides a transitional care model for cancer, helping patients achieve a faster recovery process, stronger treatment tolerance, and better quality of life. He also provides end-of-life palliative care models, focusing on holistic care covering the “physical-psychological-social-spiritual-dignity” aspects of the patient.
Dr. Wang has presided over projects such as the Capital Health Development Research Special Project and the Beijing Municipal Employee Health Management General Project. He has participated in several projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Wu Jieping Medical Foundation. He has published multiple papers in core domestic journals and international journals such as the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. Furthermore, he has explored the fusion path of clinical oncology and modern rehabilitation medicine, developing the interdisciplinary construction of integrated oncology rehabilitation, and opened the elective course “Introduction to Oncology Rehabilitation” for undergraduate and master’s students at Capital Medical University.
Dr. Wang currently holds positions in several domestic academic organizations, serving as a Director of the Beijing Anti-Cancer Association, a review expert for the Capital Health Development Research Special Project Expert Review Committee, a member of the Tumor Microenvironment Professional Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, a member of the Youth Expert Committee on Tumor Chemotherapy of the China Medicine Education Association, and a standing committee member of the Abdominal Tumor Professional Committee of the China Medicine Education Association.
