Kelly XIA
Dr. Xia Kaili obtained her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in Pediatrics in China. She spent three years studying hematology and oncology at the Medical College of Georgia and Children’s Medical Center in the United States. Dr. Xia also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Xia has been engaged in clinical pediatric work for 33 years. She specializes in child healthcare, nutrition counseling, growth and development, and behavioral assessment and guidance. Her expertise extends to pediatric respiratory, allergy, digestive, rheumatology, dermatology, hematology, and oncology treatments. Under the mentorship of the renowned hematology-oncology expert Professor Huang Shaoliang, she was part of the team that achieved China’s first breakthrough in treating thalassemia using cord blood hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Dr. Xia was awarded the title of Professor of Pediatrics at Sun Yat-sen University. Her master’s research focused on tracking minimal residual disease in leukemia, and her doctoral research centered on cytokine detection in tumor cell apoptosis. Clinically, she has senior expertise in leukemia and lymphoma. She has taught undergraduate medical students, graduate students, and residents, and has supervised several pediatric master’s candidates. Additionally, she is a featured expert for several well-known parenting media outlets. Dr. Xia is a certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor by the American Heart Association and was the first instructor in South China to provide PALS training entirely in English. She has led two National Natural Science Foundation projects related to oncology, received four Natural Science Foundation grants from Guangdong Province (oncology-focused), and published dozens of papers in national and international medical journals.
Dr. Xia began serving as the Medical Director of Guangzhou United Family Clinic in January 2011. During her tenure, the medical team developed rapidly, with the pediatric team becoming a star team in Guangzhou. From 2018 to 2020, she served as the Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Guangzhou United Family Hospital. In 2021, she became the President of the hospital, leading the team through preparation, construction, and opening—achieving a leap from zero to one. She successfully applied for a secondary general hospital status, which opened in July 2018 and has since operated efficiently, attracting high-end residents, consulate staff, and foreign corporate executives in South China. Dr. Xia herself has become a benchmark for cross-over development from public hospitals to foreign-invested hospitals. She has extensive experience and has achieved remarkable results in government relations, medical policy interpretation and implementation, market analysis, healthcare investment, quality management, and professional resource management. She was honored as the “2017 Pediatric Expert with Word-of-Mouth Influence” and led the “2017 Influential Team” by CNR News. Under her leadership, the hospital ranked 4th among the top 50 private hospitals in the 2019 China Medical Brand Communication Top 100 and passed JCI accreditation with high scores in 2021. In 2023, the hospital was recognized as a top 50 non-public medical institution for brand communication, and in 2024, it was ranked among the Ailibei Top 300 private medical institutions. Dr. Xia also led her team to win the second prize in the Ailibei 4th Medical Innovation Competition finals. In 2025, she led the hospital to become a benchmark for the “Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect” project in Guangzhou, serving as a demonstration window for policy innovation and international medical resource integration in the GBA. Due to her outstanding contributions, she was appointed Vice Chairman of the Special Committee on Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect of the Guangzhou Hospital Association and recognized as an outstanding representative of private medical institutions.
Dr. Xia joined the China National Democratic Construction Association in 2007 and became a member of its Guangdong Women’s Work Committee in 2014. For many years, she has been dedicated to health education for teenagers, organizing and participating in numerous public welfare activities, speeches, and online lectures.
